Serves:  4

Ingredients:

  • 2 Pounds pounds chicken wings (or drumettes)

  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil (for the chicken)

  • 1 Teaspoons salt (for the chicken)

  • .5 Teaspoons black pepper (for the chicken)

  • 4 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for lemon pepper sauce)

  • 1 Tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed) (for lemon pepper sauce)

  • 2 Teaspoons lemon zest (for lemon pepper sauce)

  • 1 Tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning (store-bought or homemade) (for lemon pepper sauce)

  • .5 Teaspoons garlic powder (optional, for lemon pepper sauce)

Preparation notes:

1. Prepare the Chicken:

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or set an air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel to ensure crispiness.
Toss the wings in olive oil, salt, and black pepper, coating evenly.

Arrange the wings in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack for even cooking.

2. Cook the Chicken:

Oven Method: Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.

Air Fryer Method: Air fry the wings for 20-25 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until crispy.

3. Make the Lemon Pepper Sauce:

In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, lemon pepper seasoning, and garlic powder (if using). Stir until combined.

4. Toss the Wings:

Once the wings are fully cooked and crispy, transfer them to a large bowl.
Pour the lemon pepper sauce over the wings and toss until they’re evenly coated.

5. Serve:

Plate the wings and garnish with extra lemon zest or fresh parsley for a pop of color. Serve with ranch or blue cheese dressing and celery sticks on the side for the full Wingstop experience!
